The Vista Lounge at The Montage Deer Valley - chill hang out

I'm always making a concerted effort to allocate more one-on-one with each of my kids. I had a productive Amy Chua-inspired rendezvous with Max (and I won't apologize for admitting it!) at the Montage Vista Lounge the other day. Since reading Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, I actually feel a new level of energy, confidence and fun playing Mom. Our impressive 5-hour mommy-son session consisted of math drills, killer chess, penciling lesson on 3D block letters, spelling and vocaball over good laughs, moral anecdotes (life lessons!) and yummy snacks. It feels so good to be recharged!

Lemonade, $5.
Braised Short Rib Sliders, truffle mac and cheese, red wine jus, $17. This was definitely meant to be shared. I didn't like the bun (same buns used for Tuna Sliders) and Max couldn't taste the jus and asked for barbecue saucethat did the trick. Some field greens would have been nice.
Side of BBQ sauce. We needed more kick, more flavor, more saucy sauce.
Truffle Mac and Cheese.  It sure looked and smelled good but, despite the heavy duty Staub ramekin, it didn't stay warm for very long.
Cappucino, $6.
Green Apple Sorbet, $7. Intrigued about anything with a green apple flavor...too sweet, too much of it.
