High West

I met the boys for a cowboy lunch at High West, everyone's favorite non-stuffy dining spot in Park City. The food here is straight-forward, vibrant and simply prepared with high quality ingredients. Local farms, local produce, fine in-house whiskey.
Carrots.
Asparagus.
Brussels Sprouts.
Bacon Wrapped Delta Blue Shrimp.  Juicy and spicy with mango habanero salsa. I crave these.
Utah Ballad Farms Pulled Pork.  Slow roasted 18 hours, fried green tomato...
High West Burger.  House ground Niman Ranch Farms Beef, Rolling Hills Ranch Bison, whiskey onions, gruyere and blue cheese, fried shallots, house cured pickles, fries.... Amazing burger.
I am obsessed with High West pickles.
Bourbon Popcorn.  Bacon, bourbon, cashew, caramel...
Light pours into the big room and where you get views of skiers ride up on PCMR's Town Lift Chairs. All about natural lighting.
Your very own set of pepper and salt mills at your table. Nice.
Houston Davidson, in town from Brown.
High West 101 Flight, $17.50.  Silver Oat, Double Rye, Rocky Mt 21 Y.O., Son of Bourye.
Zack, turns out, is a whiskey cowboy.

High West

Current all-time favorite spot to eat out in town is High West, with or without the whiskey ;') Atmosphere is always chill and the decor is comfy and unpretentious. Although hubby still considers the food heavy, I think the portions are spot-on, dishes consistent and food absolutely delicious. You will love their complimentary cowboy cookie breads. (Oh, and the pepper and salt mills at every table are a huge plus to any meal.) I took Miriam out for an early girls dinner to go over homework and spelling...
Heirloom Pesto.  Miriam actually started her heirloom tomato addiction here. This very salad started the craze. Sweet soft onions, kicky pesto, juicy ripe local heirlooms, drips of balsamic... We love this tomato tower!
Carrots and Pickles.  Housemade pickles here are like sour sugary candies. I think I constantly crave these housemade pickles.
High West Burger and Fries.  The parmesan fries are always decadently fab. Dave Perkins stopped by and gave away the secret to the wonderous moist juicy patty ;') If you are into burgers, get this. Ask for extra pickles.
Mac N Cheese.  What can I say? I'm not a fan but people go crazy over this. Cheesy, gooey, crusty, rich and heavy.
Vanilla Ice-cream and Chocolate.  Perfect way to finish all this love up :)
Love this place.  xo

High West lunch menu

After an awesome bike ride, we headed to High West to see what it would be like during daylight. Gorgeous! Natural light flooded through all the windows in the big room showcasing the wooden barrel details of the high-end cowboy finish inside. Double date lunch with our fave peeps, Laurie and Patrick.
Okay, let's start off with some drinks, y'all...
House Made Sour Dough Pretzel, $6. Creamy dijon rye sauce, house cured pickles. This will have been the BEST pretzel of your life. No kidding.
Gazpacho with Lump Crab.  This cold raw veggie soup was spiced and chilled to glorious perfection, seriously. Chunks of meaty briny white crab. Chef James, you rock.
Even with a view of bikers and hikers taking the Main St lift up to Park City Mt Resort.
Sauteed Spinach & Tuscan Kale, $6.  With fresh grated ginger and maple syrup. Simple and brilliant.
High West Burger, $16.  House ground Niman Ranch Farms beef, Rolling Hills Ranch Bison, a proprietary secret flavoring, caramelized whiskey onions, house cheese blend (Gruyere & Blue), Fried Shallots, Served on house made caraway brioche roll, house cured pickles & fries. Sensational BURGER! Juicy, meaty, medium rare, incredible flavors...
Bacon Wrapped Delta Blue Shrimp, $14.  Grilled with our BBQ sauce, mango habanero salsa. Hands down, everyone's ultimate fave. If you have no religious dietary restrictions, get a few of these for the table!
Whiskey Cider Braised Short Ribs, $15.  Mashed Yukon gold potatoes, fried shallot rings. Ridiculous. After a killer ride, hike, whatever, this is how you feast ;')
A little sip of this...
