breakfast at Diana's...

"Drop in after Drop-off!" (drop-off as in dropping kids off from school, of course) was the title of Diana's daring early morning breakfast party Evite. It was a perfect fall day in Park City - bright colorful leaves, temperature dropping to 60s. Diana is ALWAYS cooking up super special delectables. This morning, she made...

Savory Cheddar, Chive and Bacon Scones.  Interesting how "savory" (really meaning just yummy, actually) has evolved into "not sweet or dessert-like" when describing food. These savory scones were tasty, substantial, different and totally delicious.

Raspberry and Dark Chocolate Scones.  When you have savory ones, you must have... sweet ones! Not your typical sugary sweet scones, the dark chocolate and fresh raspberries were distinct and rich in every bite. Dense, moist and flavorful. Not dry, not too sweet.

Berries and Fruit.
Italian Cold Cuts.
Mexican Wedding Cookies...  Diana made these perfect powdery balls of love from scratch. They are deliciously nutty and not overtly sweet. I couldn't believe she made these for Olivia's roadside bake sale a few weeks ago. I LOVE these. (And I never like cookies.)
Pignoli Cookies with Black Currants...  OMG, I challenge you to find a more perfect, more beautiful, more delicious Pignoli cookie anywhere else. I actually beg her (BEG her) to make these. Oh, the meticulous placement of pine nuts and teeny currants make these perfect little cookies. (Again, this is coming from a girl who hates cookies...)
OJ and Champagne...  Why not?

Frittata #1: Asparagus, Mushroom, Peas, Caramelized Onion, Parmesan, Romano. Super scrumptious and savory. Moist, wet and bursting with flavor.

Frittata #2: Potatoes Gratin, Peas, Caramelized Onion, Parmesan, Romano...  Yum! This was less wet and the peas popped at every bite. Again, intense flavors.
French Press Guatemalan Roast... Ahhh...
Cheese Tray...Chocolate Dipped Strawberries.Poppin' Popovers... We love you, Diana - hostess with the mostess! xx
What was playing? Music? There is always, ALWAYS music in the house... acoustic guitar, piano, stereo, singing, dancing...warm, happy, creative, inspiring vibes...
