Trio in Salt Lake City

Flowers are blooming all over Trio's outdoor patioa uniquely cool urban setting for lunch. I love taking my daughter and her girlfriends here. White butcher paper covering the linen table cloths inspire cartoon masterpieces. You can't miss the oversize planters filled with seasonal vibrance at the front entry.
This time, Bro and I hit Trio, apparently the only sit-down restaurant open at that odd 3pm hour. Come for consistently good food in a hip and unpretentious atmosphere.
Chopped Salad: blood orange, pistachios, currants, beets, mized greens, cucumber, feta, verjus vinaigrette, $11.  I love everything about this salad! Perfect mix of texturesdense sweet beets, chewy teeny currants, crunchy pistachios and cucumber.
Steak Sandwich: cambozola cheese, arugula, caramelized onions, balsamic, ciabatta, $12.  Awesome steak sandwich, perfect portion, perfect flavors and blend of ingredients. Just perfect. We only should have tried a soup instead of the salad (which was also very good).
Italian Sausage Pizza: roasted peppers, caramelized onions, pepperoni, $12.  I used to only get the Chicken Mushroom Pizza but decided to try something new and meaty. Pizzas and flatbreads are sort of their specialty with that brick pizza oven in front so make sure you try something dough-y.
There is always an inspiring flower display at the front counter next to the pizza oven.
Can't get enough of the magical vibrant blooms...
